    Default Anybody tried Milagro mezcal?

    Hi,

Has anybody ever tried the Milagro mezcals? I can't seem to find anything written about them anywhere (including on the Milagro website), but there is a liquor store in my area that has a silver, a reposado, and an anejo mezcal from Milagro.

I was wondering if these are any good? Also, is Milagro a big mass producer of agave spirits? I was under the impression that most mezcal was sort of "craft distilled" by small groups of local people.

I am pretty new to the world of mezcal, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

After doing a little research, this is probably the Milagro mezcal of which you speak. BUT, it is not the same, or even related to Tequila Leyenda del Milagro. The product you are talking about is called El "Mezcal" Milagro de San Diego. It is produced in the state of Puebla, which is not in the Denomination of Origin, but has been producing mezcal for hundreds of years. Hopefully the DO of mezcal will be corrected to include all states of Mexico who have traditionally been making mezcal! Grab yourself a bottle, I'm sure it is tasty!!

    Hi 45,

Thanks for your response. I will try to attach a picture of the product I was curious about. The bottles appear to be almost identical to the Milagro tequila bottles, but they definitely say mezcal on them.DSCF3082.jpg

Interesting... I'd like to try them.

What state are these being sold in?

I live in Alberta in Canada. Sadly, we don't have the greatest selection of mezcal up here. I think the farther you go from Mexico, the worse the selection. The most common brands available for us are the Del Magueys and Scorpion. I hadn't seen these ones before, so they definitely caught my eye.

That's wild! I've never seen anything like that from Milagro. Where are you located?
