August 13, 2008 Visited on 08/12/08. Mucho is located right on the beach in Mahattan Beach. A very nice place with very friendly staff, but that doesn't mean they know their tequilas. As a matter of fact, I noticed most people drinking beers. The food was very good, and the agave selection was wonderful. However, I wouldn't consider the staff tequila knowledgeable, or the crowd there for the tequila. It's more of a 'seen and be seen' scene. Yawn. I'd rather talk tequila, especially when I'm at a tequila bar.

Still a nice place if you DO know your tequila. You really can't go wrong with a tequila bar on the beach.

 August 12, 2008 Tasted on 08/12/08 out of double ball glass. Trago blanco was a very nice blanco. Im not the biggest fan of the 'modern' look of the bottle. A great sipper very reminiscent of El Tesoro, go figure.

Aroma: Smoke, fruit, and floral.
Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel, sweet with no bitterness.
Body: Nice bold agave, complimented by citrus, floral and spice.
Finish: A semi heated finish of medium duration.

 August 12, 2008 Tasted 08/12/08 out of double ball glass. This blanco was very spicy and peppery indeed. A very nice sipper on the aggressive side.

Aroma: Peppery agave and earth.
Initial taste: Spicy herbal from the very beginning
Body: Agave, earth, pepper and spices. I noticed that El Jefe noted clove. I can see that as well.
Finish: A very heated finish of long duration.

 August 09, 2008 Tasted 08/09/08 out of snifter. Diamante blanco is a decent tequila. It has both harsh and mild aspects to it. I would use this one as a mixer, as well as a sipper. Although, as a sipper, it wouldn't be at the top of the list. Somewhere near the middle.

Aroma: A light nose of floral smoke and earth.
Initial Taste: On tip of tongue its sweet with some bitterness. An oily mouth feel.
Body: A creamy/vanilla like agave body, with hints of citrus, floral, and smoke.
Finish: A heated finish of medium duration.
