This anejo has it all. And this is coming from someone who likes his tequila typically unaged or just slightly rested.
The color of this anejo is dark amber with slight red hues. The initial taste is full of fruity notes from the wood and the agave stands strong. This anejo should be treasured by any standard. There should be no mention to alcohol as the tingling throat does not exist in the finish of this product. Overall this is my favorite aged tequila to try to this date. I feel quite unqualified to give this review because of this. SAVE THIS FOR YOURSELF!

This is my favorite of the Don Valente line. I have tried them all countless times side by side.
Don Valentes Reposado is a beautiful honey straw color. The taste is naturally very sweet with hints of wood. The agave is not masked at all by the aging and the finish is outstanding. Everytime I try this tequila I write different notes. I find this reposado complex to say the least and full of mystery. Its a must try sipper!

This is my favorite blanco. It has every characteristic I look for. A sweet citrus initial taste followed by a smooth complex finish that will leave you wanting more. And the option to get a basic bottle or classy bottle is wonderful. The blancos are the same in both the licorera and artesenal blancos. The agave is very prominent throughout the whole taste and lingers in the throat afterwards. A+

Tonala 4 Year Suprema Reserva, tasted from a Reidel on 06/12/08 at 12:30pm.
This long aged anejo gets its dark red color from the Sherry its aged in. This intrigued me because I had never had a tequila aged in Sherry. The aromas that stood out were bitter fruit and spices. You can smell the aging in this tequila and it lacks in agave aromas. So not much was expected upon tasting this "bourbon" style tequila. The taste was very woody with hints of dark chocolate, almond and coffee. This tequila has long legs but was too oily for my palate. Medium bodied, balanced alcohol and the finish was simple. I think the age overpowers this tequila and I give it a B/B+

La Cava De Don Augustin, tasted 6/11/08 at 3:45pm out of a Riedel glass.
Presentation: Simple Yet Effective, nice labeling and box for an unbeatable price of 25.00/750ml. The aromas were strong peppermint with earthy tones. And a very balanced aroma of fresh agave. The initial taste was much expected; very creamy upon entrance followed by hints of pepper and spice while still retaining its natural sweetness. The oils linger for a nice mouth feel and contribute to the lingering aftertaste. Overall I rate this an A/A-
