Chinaco Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: agave & clay
Taste: clay with hot pepper finish and light on the tongue

I enjoy the light blanco mouthfeel of the Chinaco Blanco with its earthy agave taste. This is a pure well done Blanco that can be drunk neat, on ice or in a cocktail !

The Chinaco Blanco is currently my top Blanco pick as of the writing of this review, along with Corralejo or the El Diamante Del Cielo's.

Sotol Hacienda De Chihuahua Plata

Color: clear
Aroma: citrus
Taste: citrus peel & rinds with a mint taste, a light mouthfeel and slight burn finish

This was an accidental first experience tasting a Sotol. I was at the liquor store and recognized the bottle, though did not realize it was a Sotol rather than Tequila. I am not a big fan now of Sotol as it tasted very bitter to me neat and even the bitterness came through in cocktails.

Cabo Wabo Reposado

Color: light golden hue
Aroma: hard cider
Taste: apple wood smoke taste with a light mouthfeel and tongue numbing bitter burn in the finish

A reposado with a burn of a blanco. Good for cocktails, but not one that I would buy to drink straight. My three favorite reposado at the time of this writing have to be Sol Azul, Casa Noble & Corralejo.

Don Julio Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: floral
Taste: flower salad with ground black pepper and light on the tongue

I enjoy the light blanco mouthfeel of the Don Julio Blanco, though I enjoy a more fiery Tequila than the floral taste.

Disappointed with the presentation as the bulbous bottle is nice, but the wood cap hides a plastic screw top. For the price and history of the Don Julio Blanco I would expect a corked bottle.

For blancos I would much rather drink either the Chinaco, Corralejo or the El Diamante Del Cielo. My current top three blanco picks as of the writing of this review.

Hussong's Reposado

Color: amber agave nectar
Aroma: vanilla
Taste: chocolate mint with light body and a nice burn from beginning to end

Hussong's Reposado has the burn of a blanco, but the nice rested taste of a reposado. The jug bottle design represents this Tequila very well as you'd expect a strong Tequila to be poured. Great reposado for cocktails or sipping straight.
