Tasted in a caballito sticking to the sides with thin legs forming after a good amount of time.

Puerto Vallarta Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: agave and clay
Taste: light on the tongue with the taste of pure agave, clay and a little clove with a nice strong burn of a finish though not a burn that makes your eyes water

I have added this to my 'recession' Tequila. If I am unable to find a bottle of Cabrito Blanco then this is my second choice for a spicy highland Tequila. Once I receive my tax payer bail out I will spend it on my blanco favorites Chinaco, Siete Leguas, El Tesoro, Corralejo and Milagro. Puerto Vallarta Blanco works really well in cocktails and is decent straight. If you don't want to go all out this Superbowl for your mixer Tequila, then I would either go with Cabrito or Puerto Vallarta. I like the attempt on the corked bottle, though it is a plastic cork.

Tasted in and with everything and on it's own over several days, weeks...

Cabrito Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: agave
Taste: light to medium on the tongue with the taste of agave, clay & slight licorice with a burn of a finish

If I need a blanco for cocktails this is the one as it is great tasting and you get twice as much for the price of a mid shelf blanco. Cabrito is my recession Tequila. Though when I receive my tax payer bail out I will spend it on my blanco favorites Chinaco, Siete Leguas, El Tesoro, Corralejo and Milagro. For presentation I am not a fan of the screwtop bottle or the sticker label.

Tasted in a shot glass on November 19, 2008 quick legs down the glass.

Buen Amigo Reposado

Color: medium brown hue
Aroma: bourbon
Taste: mashed up used bourbon barrels light mouthfeel and strong burn in the finish

I am all over the map with this Reposado the bottle is sleek and corked though the contents tasted more like a Bourbon than a Tequila though the burn finish is what I like in a Reposado. My favorite reposado at the time of this writing have to still be Chinaco, Sol Azul, Casa Noble & Corralejo.

Tasted in a rocks glass on September 15, 2008 quick legs down the glass.

Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado

Color: light brown hue
Aroma: agave, rubbing alchol
Taste: a cheap blanco stirred with a stick out of a campfire with a light mouthfeel and strong burn in the finish

For the price you can find many better Reposados. My favorite reposado at the time of this writing have to be Chinaco, Sol Azul, Casa Noble & Corralejo.

Tasted in a rocks glass on July 31, 2008 coating the glass.

Tonala Anejo

Color: golden brown
Aroma: burnt sugar
Taste: agave creme brulee with slight oil mouthfeel with a spicy finish

The Tonala anejo is very sweet with the taste of an aged rum with a hot long lasting finish. The Tonala rates up there with my favorite anejos as of this writing Sol Azul, Casa Noble or Don Julio 1942.
