February 18, 2008 El Don de la familia Tequila Plata. NOM 1534. Tasted in Riedel glass on 2/15/08. "The Boss" was purchased online from Hi-Time as it is not available in my area. Crystal clear in the glass, bright and colorless. This tequila is a real sleeper. Aroma/nose is incredible! One of the best. It's a full spectrum agave aroma, with everything you'd expect in a blanco and more. Very pleasing. The taste was an enjoyable experience from start to finish with its only setback being a slightly bitter aftertaste. This tequila comes closest to 4 Copas than any other blanco that I have tried. The taste is sweet green and vegetal with hints of fruit and citrus. It has a thin to mediun/light body and a balanced alcohol feel on the tongue. A straight forward deep agave flavor with lots of lasting heat on the finish. Because of its strong flavor it can make a great mixer but this tequila is a sipper for my money. There's lots of true to a blanco tequila flavor and aroma here to like. Definitely breaks into my top 5. The unique bottle design partly drew me to this tequila. The label could be better, but the embeded crystal and dripping wax seal are nice touches. A reasonable price point makes this a must try.

 February 09, 2008 Tequila Fina Estampa Blanco NOM 1436 Purchased online from Shoppers Vineyard as it is not available in my state. Tasted in Riedel glass on 2/9/08. Clear and bright in the glass. Aroma-Nose was a very pleasing blend of sweet bread and nutmeg with hints of butter, eggnog, pastry baking, and mild alcohol. First taste has a velvety agave bite with a mild mouth numbing effect. Fina is fairly strong and pleasantly pungent with a superior body. A smooth finish and mild alcohol burn makes this tequila go down way too easy. This is a very good balanced Blanco. Drink it straight, sipping and enjoying it slowly or it makes a wonderful mixer. The price makes this an outstanding value. You just can’t go wrong with this Blanco. An original bottle shape and one of the few tequilas that use outer packaging make for a special presentation.

 November 23, 2007 Tequila tasting review of VooDoo Tiki Reposado. NOM 1068 done 11/23/07 in Riedel glass. This tequila is a light golden color. The nose has medium alcohol, hints of vanilla and wood, with mild mint and white pepper. Mostly green earthy agave takes precedence. Long legs give way to beautiful pearls that cling to the glass. First taste starts with a crisp agave attack dominated by white pepper. It then continues on with slight oak, moderate bitterness, and plenty of alcohol heat. It has a slight chocolate aftertaste with a long hot finish. Just a bit harsh, but still very sip able. This tequila has a nice intensity and complexity that revolves around its agave center. The very nice handcrafted and numbered bottles each have a glass Tiki idol inside and different special magical words.

 November 16, 2007 Vida Tequila Blanco NOM 1460.Tasted in a Riedel glass on 11/15/07. This tequila has a very pleasant full agave aroma with a slightly sweet herbaceous quality and maybe just a hint of cinnamon. It has fair alcohol nose burn and a bright, clear look. First taste was stronger than I expected with medium body and a nice mouth feel. Mildly sweet and smooth with moderate heat, it has a complex sustained agave/alcohol presence that is consistent throughout the tasting, following through to the finish. With zero wood, vanilla, or fruit, I noticed very little in the way of flavors or aromas to detract from the straightforward agave. Clean and unmanipulated, very much what I like in a blanco. I thought this tequila would be milder, but for me it had a much stronger than expected profile. While nicely presented by means of an elegant and sophisticated un-glossy white outer box introduction, it holds more of the same inside. Nice medallion hang tag, simple labeling with foil stamped logo, and a hand crafted no nonsense bottle all thoroughly compliment. Even without all the imagery, I would still consider this to be a top notch competitor among better blancos. A good effort that is worthy of your consideration.

 October 29, 2007 Tequila Agave DOS MIL Reposado tasted 10/29/07 NOM 1079 in Riedels.
I was really looking forward to trying this new reposado but I was surprised at how close it was to an anejo. The aroma/nose on first inspection brought out lots of vanilla, olive and cinnamon, (to me very desirable characteristics). Initial taste had hints of honey, citrus, and again vanilla. Nice. I also thought I picked up fruitiness (mango?) The body was light to medium, not as heavy as Orgullo. As dark in amber and golden hues as any anejo I felt it was very much like an anejo in strength and taste, lacking in comparison to anejos only in aroma. It has lots of warm zing and alcohol heat. I found it quite strong for a reposado. It has a long sustained lingering alcohol end with a slight mild bitter agave finish. Agave DOS MIL Reposado is enjoyable, very mellow and smooth tequila that I think most anejo lovers will like and can maybe save a little money buying over an anejo. The presentation is a wonderfully original neat and clean bottle design with smooth clear glass sides in the shape of agave leaves while the front and back are etched in a flat matte finish. Gold and blue printing without a paper label put the finishing touches to this classy tequila holder. I found nothing lacking or not to be liked about this new reposado and can highly recommend it to everyone.
