May 28, 2008 Cazadores Tequila Reposado, NOM 1487. This bright golden/yellow colored spirit was one of my Memorial Day treats this year. I savored it in a small Cognac snifter where it revealed hints of oak & vanilla accompanied by tastes of spicy agave, fruit, new oak aging, & a soft sweetness. The light medium body of this tequila partnered wonderfully with other fine Margarita ingredients enjoyed later on in the day. I experienced a moderately long finish ending with a nice openness of the senses. Cazadores Reposado is quite smooth, not as smooth as the top performers, but still a small investment to pay for such a delightfully enjoyable tequila. B+

 May 23, 2008 Corralejo Tequila Reposado, NOM 1368. This medium yellowish/amber colored spirit was enjoyed in a small Cognac snifter where an earthy agave & slight smoky oak nose presented itself. The taste of spice & oak became more apparent as I proceeded. This all resulted in a medium body tequila which was as smooth as other tequilas in the same price range but displayed some alcohol overtones. I think the moderately long finish was one of Corralejo's most memorable attributes. It rolled across the tongue & lingered a bit before exiting with a nice open sensation. This was a good reposado but not one of my favorites. Distinctively tall bottle with an attractive label. A solid B.

 May 16, 2008 1800 Tequila Reserva Reposado, NOM 1122. This clear golden spirit was enjoyed in a double shot glass. It had a medium scent of alcohol at first which developed into roasted agave & oak after airing for a short period of time. The initial taste was peppery, smoky, & spicy with sweet fruit, a hint of vanilla, & medium alcohol. The pepper & spice lingered with some bitterness in this medium bodied tequila & finished in medium fashion where the slightly bitter taste dissipated. 1800 Reposado was fairly smooth, consistent with it's $24.95 price tag, not at all bad for what you received in return. I feel the current 1800 label is certainly a better product now compared to when it had a closer association with Jose Cuervo. Just short of a solid B.

 May 15, 2008 30-30 Tequila Reposado, NOM 1068. I tasted this clear, golden amber spirit in a small Cognac snifter where it revealed a smoky agave, caramel, & oak nose. The taste started with hints of agave, oak, sweet cinnamon spice, & light alcohol. This sweet, medium bodied tequila continued with more spice & a slight numbing sensation throughout & finished in a long, rolling fashion, starting at the tip of the tongue & falling off the back into an essence. 30-30 Reposado is surprisingly smooth with a subtle taste of alcohol but no burn whatsoever. This is a great buy for the money costing far less than many blancos. Very impressed with every aspect except the bottle! A-

 May 12, 2008 Herradura Reposado Tequila Natural, NOM 1119. The wife & I enjoyed this spirit on Mother's Day in small Cognac snifters. I haven't had it in awhile & found it quite good, much better than the blanco. The color was medium amber/honey, much like many anejo's with that unique Herradura, intense flavor of roasted, earthy, agave, caramel, oak, & a pleasant sweetness. After further sipping, the medium bodied agave softened a bit where it revealed more caramel, oak, & fruit. It finished moderately long & dissipated with a nice open sensation, slight alcohol, & a hint of spice. Herradura Reposado is surprisingly smooth but it is pricey & better reposados can be found for less dinero! B+/A-
