The first time I tasted the Clase Azul Reposado (1416) I was floored by the fact that it was a Repo. I couldn't believe they got that kind of complexity in just eight months aging. Then I found out about the Sherry barrels.
I think this is a great value tequila and love tasting people on it.
The Clase Azul Ultra on the other hand is not the best value...but you gotta love the packaging. The first time I tasted the Ultra (at the launch party in SF) I grabbed it on accident thinking it was the Repo. It was richer, and more complex but not worth the 2K you're looking at spending. It is something worth adding to your collection, especially cause the 50 allocated to the U.S. is all sold out!
