June 17, 2007 Sauza Tres Generations Anejo ? NOM 1102 ? Tasted on 5/20/07 at 5:00pm. I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Cantina Del Cabo in Davis, CA and tasted it out of a 4 ounce glass. The tequila is golden in color and is aged for more than 3 years. Sauza Tres Generations Anejo aromas consist of intense fruit and floral aspects followed by moderate earth and vanilla. On the lighter side, this Anejo has mild aromas of spice and smoke. On the tip of tongue, this tequila is mellow and has an oily mouth feel. While the tequila has mild agave flavor, it is sweet-to-syrupy and has only a hint of bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains intense flavors of fruit and floral followed by mild earth and spice aspects. Deeper flavors of Sauza Tres Generations Anejo consist of hints of vanilla and smoke. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a short duration of flavor and a subtle warm and tingly alcohol intensity. I have rated this tequila at 85 out of 100 points.

 June 17, 2007 Patron Anejo ? NOM 1492 ? Tasted 5/27/07. On this date I tried this tequila by doing a blind tasting at Zocalo using a snifter. This tequila is a pale yellow color and has an extremely intense aroma of earth and moderate-to-intense floral. There are also moderate aromas of fruit, spice, and smoke followed by a hint of caramel. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a low-to-sweet level of sweetness with mild bitterness. The Patron Anejo flavor contains intense fruit flavors and moderate agave, chemical, and floral. The tequila also has mild intensities of earth and smoke followed by a hint of vanilla and spice. Patron Anejo finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and a numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of 86/87 points out of 100.

 June 02, 2007 Cesar Monterrey Blanco Reserva NOM 1486 Tasted on 5/22/07 at 6:15pm. I opened this bottle, which cost me $15, and tasted it out of a snifter. With a clear color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include mild fruit, spice, and moderate smoke. The tequila has a thin oily mouth feel and the first sip is sweet with a hint of bitterness. Cesar Monterrey Blanco Reserva has numerous arrays of flavors. Intense flavors of earth, agave, and floral are followed by moderate notes of spice and fruit. With a medium-to-long duration of flavor, tastes of mild smoke and wood bring this tequila to a subtle numbing finish. Cesar Monterrey Blanco Reserva has received the rating of 89 points out of 100.

 June 02, 2007 Cabo Wabo Anejo NOM 1467 Tasted on 5/21/07 at 6:30pm. I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento, CA for $10 and tasted it out of a snifter. With a yellow golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include moderate fruit and spice also, mild vanilla and hints of caramel and smoke. The tequila has a thin oily mouth feel and the first sip is sweet with mild bitterness. Cabo Wabo Anejo has numerous arrays of flavors due to its 1 to 5 years of aging. Intense flavors of earth are followed by moderate notes of agave, spice, and smoke. With a medium-to-short duration of flavor, tastes of mild chemicals, fruit, floral, and caramel with a hint of vanilla bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Cabo Wabo Anejo has received the rating of 88 points out of 100.

 June 01, 2007 Chinaco Reposado NOM 1127 Tasted on 4/26/07 at 4:00pm. I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento, CA for $10 and tasted it out of a snifter. The tequila is a yellow golden color and is aged for 8 months. Chinaco Reposado aromas consist of intense earth and floral aspects followed by moderate fruit and spice. On the lighter side, this Reposado has mild aromas of smoke and pepper with hints of vanilla and caramel. On the tip of tongue, this tequila is mellow and has a heavy and oily mouth feel. While the tequila has moderate agave flavor, it is sweet and has only a hint of bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains intense flavors of earth and floral followed by moderate agave and chemical aspects. Deeper flavors of Chinaco Reposado consist of mild fruit and spice. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a long-to-very long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity. I have rated this tequila at 94 out of 100 points.
