July 23, 2008 Dos Lunas Anejo NOM 1124 Tasted on 7/18/08 at 9:00pm. I tried this tequila at the Grad Tequila Bar and tasted it in a snifter. With a golden amber brown color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include moderate vanilla and caramel with mild fruit and spice. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with no bitterness. Dos Lunas Anejo's moderate to intense flavors of floral are followed by moderate notes of caramel, wood, and agave. With a medium duration of flavor, tastes of mild fruit and vanilla with hints of earth and spice bring this tequila to a slightly numbing finish. Dos Lunas Anejo has received the rating of 88/89 points out of 100.

 July 23, 2008 374 Reposado NOM 1522 Tasted on 7/11/08 at 5:00pm. I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. 374 ages their Reposado in American Oak barrels for 9 months which causes it to be a pale yellow color. Intense floral and fruit aromas of this tequila are followed by moderate to intense notes of earth and moderate notes of spice. In the mouth, the Reposado is thin to medium and mellow. While the tequila is semi sweet, there is no bitterness. When examining the flavors of 374 Reposado, first impressions include intense floral and fruit accents with moderate to intense agave. On a second sip, I noticed mild flavors of earth with hints of vanilla. This tequila finishes with a long duration of flavor and subtle numbing alcohol intensity. I awarded 374 Reposado the rating of 89/90 points out of 100.

Intense floral aromas of this tequila are followed by moderate notes of vanilla and mild notes of caramel and fruit. In the mouth, the Anejo is medium to heavy and mellow. While the tequila is somewhat sweet, there is no bitterness. When examining the flavors of 374 Anejo, first impressions include moderate to intense floral accents with moderate agave, caramel, and vanilla on the backend. On a second sip, I noticed mild flavors of wood and fruit. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste hints of spice. Finishing with a long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity, this tequila is somewhat light and mellow. I awarded 374 Anejo the rating of 88/89 points out of 100.

 July 21, 2008 Herradura Gran Imperio Reposado NOM 1119 Tasted on 8/6/07 at 7:00pm. I tried this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento and tasted it in a snifter. With a yellow golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral with moderate fruit. Other aromas include mild vanilla with hints of earth and spice. The tequila has a thin mouth feel and on the first sip is semi-sweet with no bitterness. Herradura Gran Imperio has numerous arrays of flavors due to its 11 months of aging. Intense floral flavors are followed by moderate to intense agave. Moderate notes include fruit and vanilla. With a long duration of flavor, tastes of mild earth, spice, and wood bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Herradura Gran Imperio Reposado has received the rating of 91/92 points out of 100.

 July 21, 2008 Centinela Anejo (New Bottle) NOM 1140 Tasted on 3/7/08 at 10:00pm. I tasted this tequila at the Grad Tequila Bar in Davis, CA and tasted it out of a snifter. With a pale yellow color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth with moderate to intense fruit. Other aromas include mild vanilla and spice followed by hints of smoke. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and the first sip has a low level of sweetness with minimal bitterness. Centinela Anejo has numerous arrays of flavors. Intense floral with moderate to intense flavors of agave are followed by mild notes of earth, wood, chemical bite, and fruit. With a medium to long duration of flavor, hints of vanilla and spice bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Centinela Anejo has received the rating of 86 points out of 100.
