Espolon Silver ? NOM 1440 ? Tasted 12/31/06. With a clear color, Espolon Silver has intense aromas of earthy and floral scents. Less apparent are moderate spice and fruit with mild smoke aromas. Upon initial taste, the tequila has a heavy mouth feel and has a slight burning sensation on the tip of the tongue. Intense flavors of agave, spice, and earth accents are followed by moderate floral and smoke flavors. The finish consists of hot alcohol intensity and a medium-to-long duration of flavor. I rate this tequila at the ?A/A-? range.

Don Julio Blanco - NOM 1449 - Tasted 2/16/07. The tequila is clear in color with intense earthy and smokey aromas followed by moderate-to-intense aromas of floral, spice, and chocolate. A soft mellow entry leads to a low sweet taste, with low-to-moderate bitterness and moderate-to-heavy agave taste. While there is only moderate agave flavor, the tequila has intense earthy and floral. The tequila finishes with a short duration of flavor and a tingly alcohol finish. Overall, I gave the tequila a "B."

Corzo Silver ? NOM 1487 ? Tasted 2/7/07. With a clear color, Corzo Silver has intense aromas of floral, spice, and earth. Moderate aromas consist of fruit and smoke. The tequila has a low bitterness to it and a semi sweet aftertaste. Initial flavors are intense agave and earth. There are also moderate floral and fruit, spicy, and smokey flavors. A tingly, numbing alcohol intensity and a short duration of flavor bring this tequila experience to an end. This tequila received the rating of ?B+.?

Corralejo Blanco ? NOM 1368 ? Tasted 4/8/07. The tequila is clear in color. Beginning with intense fruity, earthy, and floral aromas, the deeper aromas include moderate spice and a hint of smokey scents. On the tip of the tongue there is a slight burning sensation that is followed by a sweet, low bitter taste. Upon tasting, the tequila has intense floral and agave with moderate fruity flavors. Lastly, there are mild flavors of earth, spice, and smoke. Corralejo Blanco tequila finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity. Overall, I rate this tequila at the ?A-/B+? level.

Cabo Wabo Silver - NOM 1467 - Tasted 2/14/07. With a clear color, Cabo Wabo Silver has intense aromas of earthy and floral scents. Less apparent are moderate spice and mild smoke and fruit aromas. Upon initial taste, the tequila has a thin mouth feel and is soft and mellow on the tip of the tongue. Moderate flavors of agave and earth accents are followed by mild floral, fruit, and spice flavors. The finish consists of almost no alcohol intensity and a short duration of flavor. I rate this tequila at the ?B? range.
