Cazadores Anejo NOM 1487 Tasted 4/2/07. This tequila is golden brown in color and has a intense aromas of floral and earth. There are also moderate aromas of fruit, vanilla, and caramel followed by mild spice and smoke. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a sweet and low bitter tequila taste. The Cazadores Anejo flavor contains intense flavors of floral and earth followed by moderate agave, fruit, and spice accents. Mild notes of vanilla, caramel, and smoke also accompany this tequila. Cazadores Anejo finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and a numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of an A-.

Casa Noble Anejo NOM 1137 Tasted 4/2/07. The tequila is a golden brown color and has an intense earth, caramel, and smoke aromas. Once you get past the intensity of the nose, you can smell moderate notes of floral and vanilla. On the tip of the tongue the tequila is mellow and soft and feels heavy in the mouth. While the tequila has no bitterness, it is actually fairly sweet and syrupy. Now onto flavor. The flavor has intense caramel. There is also moderate agave, vanilla, and floral attributes which are followed by mild fruit, smoke, and earth. The tequilas finish is a meduim duration of flavor followed by a numbing alcohol feeling. Overall, I rated this tequila at the A-/B+ level.

Arette Anejo NOM 1109 Tasted 2/19/07. With a yellow golden color, Arette Anejo has intense aromas of earthy, fruity, and floral scents. Less apparent are moderate caramel and mild vanilla, spice, and smoke aromas. Upon initial taste, the tequila has a heavy mouth feel and is soft and mellow on the tip of the tongue. Moderate flavors of floral, agave, and earth accents are followed by mild vanilla, fruit, and spice flavors. The finish consists of numbing alcohol intensity and a long duration of flavor. I rate this tequila at the A- range and consider it one of my favorite tequilas.

Revolucion Reposado NOM 1112 Tasted 12/31/06. With a pale yellowish color, Revolucion Reposado has intense aromas of earthy, fruit, and floral scents. Less apparent are mild spice, vanilla, and caramel aromas. Upon initial taste, the tequila has a medium-to-thin mouth feel and is soft and mellow on the tip of the tongue. Intense flavors of floral, earth, agave, and fruit accents are followed by mild spice flavors. The finish consists of a numbing, tingly alcohol intensity and a long duration of flavor. I rate this tequila at the A-/B+ range.

Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado NOM 1104 Tasted 3/9/07. With a pale yellow color, Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado has an intense aroma of earth. Moderate aromas consist of floral, fruit, and smoke. The tequila has a bitterness to it and a sweet aftertaste. Initial flavors are intense earth and floral. There are also moderate agave, fruit, and spicy flavors. A hot, numbing alcohol intensity and a medium duration of flavor bring this tequila to an end. This tequila received the rating of B.
