1800 Silver NOM 1122 Tasted 12/20/06. With a clear color, 1800 Silver has moderate aromas of floral and smoke. Mild aromas consist of earth, fruit, and vanilla. The tequila has a bitterness to it and a sweet aftertaste. Initial flavors are intense agave and floral. There are also moderate earthy, spicy, and smoky flavors. A tingly alcohol intensity and a medium duration of flavor bring this tequila experience to an end. This tequila received the rating of B-.

1800 Reposado NOM 1122 Tasted on 2/29/08 at 7:40pm. I tried this tequila, which cost me $4, at the Davis Graduate Tequila Bar and tasted it in a snifter. With a yellow golden color, this tequila has intense floral and earthy aromas. Other aromas include moderate spice and fruit with mild smoke. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with mild to moderate bitterness. 1800 Reposado has numerous arrays of flavors due to its 6 months of aging. Intense flavors of floral and agave are followed by moderate notes of spice, earth, and fruit. With a medium duration of flavor, tastes of mild smoke with hints of wood bring this tequila to a subtle finish. 1800 Reposado has received the rating of 82 points out of 100.

Partida Elegante Extra Anejo NOM 1454 Tasted on 4/3/08 at 3:20pm. Partida Elegante was donated to me be Partida but it typically sells for over $300. I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. Partida Elegante ages their extra anejo for at least 36 months which causes it to be a dark amber brown color. Intense aromas of this tequila include caramel and floral notes that are followed by moderate notes of fruit. In addition, mild aromas include vanilla and spice. In the mouth, the extra anejo is medium to heavy. While the tequila is semisweet, there is only the slightest hint of bitterness. When examining the flavors of Partida Elegante, first impressions include intense floral accents. On a second sip, I noticed moderate flavors of agave, vanilla, and caramel. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste mild notes of wood and earth. This tequila has a long duration of flavor and has a nice subtle numbing alcohol intensity. I awarded Partida Elegante Extra Anejo the rating of 91/92 points out of 100.

Gran Centenario Anejo (Green Label) NOM 1122 Tasted 6/29/07 at 4:10pm. On this date I tried this tequila at Zocalo using a snifter. This tequila is an amber brown color and has intense aromas of earth and fruit. There are also moderate aromas of caramel and vanilla followed by mild notes of floral and spice. A soft taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a low amount of sweetness with mild bitterness. The Gran Centenario Anejo flavor contains intense agave flavors with moderate floral and earth. The tequila also has mild notes of fruit, caramel, wood, chemicals, and smoke. Gran Centenario Anejo finishes with a medium to long duration of flavor and a subtle numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of 87 points out of 100.
