January 15, 2009 3 Amigos (New) Blanco NOM 1499 Tasted on 5/30/08 at 5:00pm. I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. The bottle has a unique design so it truly stands out on any shelf. 3 Amigos does not age their Blanco which causes it to be clear in color. Intense aromas of this tequila include agave and fruit accents that are followed by moderate notes of floral and mild notes of earth. In the mouth, the Blanco is thin and mellow. While the tequila is somewhat sweet, there is no bitterness. When examining the flavors of 3 Amigos Blanco, first impressions include moderate agave, fruit, and floral accents. On a second sip, I noticed mild flavors of earth. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste hints of spice. Finishing with a medium duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity, this tequila is found to be lacking some of the front end taste that I remembered from the original 3 Amigos Blanco. Do not get me wrong, this is still a good Blanco. I just remember it being better. I awarded 3 Amigos Blanco the rating of 88/89 points out of 100.

 January 15, 2009 3 Amigos Anejo NOM 1499 Tasted on 5/30/08 at 5:30pm. I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. The bottle has a unique design so it truly stands out on any shelf. 3 Amigos ages their Anejo for two years which causes it to be a pale yellow golden color. Intense aromas of this tequila include floral accents that are followed by moderate notes of fruit and mild notes of vanilla. In the mouth, the Anejo is light and mellow. While the tequila is sweet, there is no bitterness. When examining the flavors of 3 Amigos Anejo, first impressions include moderate to intense agave, fruit, and floral accents. On a second sip, I noticed moderate flavors of vanilla. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste mild notes of wood and hints of earth, spice, and caramel. Finishing with a long duration of flavor and a nice slight numbing alcohol intensity, this tequila is found to be a very light refreshing Anejo perfect for summer. I awarded 3 Amigos Anejo the rating of 90/91 points out of 100.

 January 15, 2009 El Relingo Reposado NOM 1486 Tasted on 1/12/09 at 2:15pm. I tried this tequila at my home and tasted it in a Riedel glass. With a pale yellow golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and fruit. Other aromas include mild vanilla with hints of earth and spice. The tequila has a thin to medium mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with no bitterness. El Relingo Reposado has an intense vanilla aftertaste with moderate flavors of floral, agave, and fruit followed by mild notes of earth and wood. With a long duration of flavor, this tequila comes to a subtle numbing finish with hints of spice. El Relingo Reposado has received the rating of 87/88 points out of 100.

 January 15, 2009 El Relingo Gold (Mixto) NOM 1486 Tasted on 1/12/09 at 3:10pm. I tried this tequila at my home and tasted it in a Riedel glass. With a pale yellow color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral, vanilla, and fruit. Other aromas include moderate earth and caramel. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and on the first sip has a low level of sweetness with mild bitterness. El Relingo Gold has moderate flavors of floral, vanilla, and earth on the backend followed by mild notes of agave, fruit, and wood. With a medium duration of flavor, this tequila comes to a subtle numbing finish with a bit of a bite. El Relingo Gold has received the rating of 85/86 points out of 100.
